Kalani Hill, of Vauxhall, fled the scene after she was seen shoplifting from ShopRite in Hanover on Friday, Dec. 9, police said.

Hill was then found by Florham Park Police, who stopped her to investigate further.

The follow-up investigation found that Hill had been seen shoplifting — but as she was confronted by loss prevention, she fled, “striking the loss prevention officer in the leg with her vehicle,” according to police.

Hill was arrested and charged with shoplifting and assault by auto. She was also issued motor vehicle summonses for reckless driving and a stop sign violation before being released pending her court date.
